TST Rules for TSTs Small Sided Games
TST 3v3 and 2v2 Rules
- Always finish a TST session with a SSG game
- This may be a 2v2 or 3v3 depending on the numbers
- Try to keep the coaching to a minimum as much as possible during these games.
- Coach on the run if necessary.
- But make sure you are engaged in the games and 'commentate enthusiastically to build energy and atmosphere in the games. the players love it.
RULES
- Physicality Rule : Keep the physicality in the game to a minimum too (Call fouls even if borderline etc. No full body tackles).
- No lifting rule : If the ball is lifted (scoop only - NO BOOTING) it must be brought back to the ground immediately. If not the team that lifted the ball first, looses possession.
- The bring it in rule: If ball goes out then the team getting possession can run it or pass it in.
- The little bit out rule: If ball goes a 'little bit out for a fraction of a second, and one touch is used to get it back in, then it remains in
- The own goal rule: Own goals don't count as goals (attacking team gets the ball back, as a goal kick)
- The Deflections rule: Deflections count as a goal (like in a normal game). Deflections aren't own goals.
- The forcing rule: If a shot is blocked by a defender and goes out, it is the defenders ball
- No Goal Keeping rule ; Use a middle cone as a third goal to stop goal keeping
- First time finish rule applies if a team is winning by 2 clear goals (can be played at all levels)

Advanced player Rules
- Play first time finish from the outset BUT can score from anywhere
- Use cones inside the goals as a goal keeper. The shot must miss the cone.
- Swap all goals for cones
Other more advanced rules
• Pressure rule – if a player in possession is tackle and the ball goes out the tackler gets possession
• Interception rule – if a pass is intercepted and goes out the interceptor gets possession
